Anatolia · Protection and the evil eye
Muska (amulet)
A triangular amulet: the trace in weaving of the object that carries protective writing.
What does it mean?
In Hakkâri kilims, the amulet motif is woven together with the eye and evil-eye motifs against harmful gazes [1]. Its triangular shape recalls the amulets in which a prayer is written and which are hung around the neck.
