Anatolia · Protection and the evil eye
Göz (eye)
An eye that turns the evil gaze back on itself.
What does it mean?
In Hakkâri kilims, the eye, evil-eye and amulet motifs are woven to protect against harmful gazes and to drive them away [1]. Nested diamonds with a dot in the centre are among the most common evil-eye forms in the kilim.
