Leaves on the barn ceiling
In Ordu and Giresun, taflan (karayemiş, cherry laurel, Laurocerasus officinalis) is winter fodder for animals: the leaves are hung from the barn ceiling. In Keşap, for teat warts in a cow, the leaves are rubbed on the udder for seven days; meanwhile people walk around the animal reciting Surah al-Ikhlas, and then a leaf is left beside the animal for three days.
