Not every chamomile is chamomile
Not every “chamomile” is the same plant. The plant called chamomile in the Doğubayazıt area is Anthemis armeniaca; only the flower heads are dried and boiled, and the steam is inhaled for sinusitis. The familiar tea chamomile is Matricaria chamomilla. Local names show why using a plant without knowing it is risky.
