Resin combed from goat hair
The resin of laden (rockrose, Cistus; also kaya gülü, pamukluk, tavşancıl) used to stick to the fleece of goats and sheep grazing among the plants, and was collected by combing the fleece. Today leafy branches are boiled in water and the resin that sinks to the bottom is collected. Laden is one of the three plants most collected from the wild in Turkey.
