The secret of Anzer honey
Anzer honey comes from two villages on the Anzer plateau in İkizdere, Rize. Locals credit its scent to the bees visiting a rhododendron they call “white komar” (Caucasian rhododendron); some even eat its strongly scented flowers raw for strength. The honey is mostly spread on burns like an ointment. Baytop adds a warning: the honey sold as Anzer honey in Turkey is at least a hundred times what the plateau produces.
