Ingredients

  • 1 cup of milk (or plant milk)
  • ½ teaspoon of ground turmeric
  • 1 pinch of black pepper
  • Optional: 1 pinch of cinnamon and 1 teaspoon of honey

Method

  1. Warm the milk in a small pot; do not let it boil.
  2. Add the turmeric, pepper and cinnamon if using, and whisk well.
  3. Heat for 2–3 minutes over low heat, stirring.
  4. Pour into a cup and add the honey once it has cooled slightly.

Black pepper and the fat in milk increase how much curcumin the body absorbs, which is why the traditional recipe uses both.
